The discussion of images for characters has been widely debated for years. The morality of taking someone else's artwork and using it for your own; the discomfort with using real people to form fictional characters; the urge to create your character fully. At Larsa we want to allow for people to remain as creative as possible, at the same time we recognize that there are some incapable of creating a visual of their character. So we have made a list of the Best Images for you to use for your characters.
A) Draw an image of your character. That way you get to know your character better, see them the way you want to see them.
B) Ask a friend or a loved one to draw a character for you. With a bit of guidance they can get the type of look you were aiming for. Or perhaps give you the surprise to work with.
C) If you find an image on the internet you may ask the artist for permission to use a piece of work they already have drawn. Asking is the key in this situation because we don't want to be attacked by artists claiming that we've stolen their work.
D) If none of the above work you may browse sites like photobucket and google images and find an appropriate image. We just ask that you not pass this off as 'your own' and source it. Give us the site that you got it off of, the artist if possible and the specific words detailing that 'you did not draw this image'.
E) If all of these options are uncomfortable for you then please just include a detailed description. Be as specific as possible. This should work fine, for many books that we read have lasted without the use of visuals. I think we can handle it.
Good luck everyone. If you have any problem with this please PM a Staff Member.
